Dear Friends,

The year 5764 will be remembered as a high point in U.S. - Israel relations. Based on common bonds, shared values and mutual interests, both our nations worked closely together in the war on terror and in our struggle to achieve real and lasting peace. The support of the American Jewish community and its tireless efforts to maintain and strengthen the U.S. - Israel relationship has proven invaluable at this critical time. I am convinced the special relationship we share with America will have a positive influence in the Middle East as our neighbors realize that the time for peace is now and that Israel will continue to be strong and vibrant.

The United States and Israel share so many values and beliefs, including a common desire to make the world a better place and a belief in freedom and progress. Americans and Israelis are, by nature, optimists. This unyielding hope for a better future will insure both our great countries will overcome any challenge put before us.

To all my friends in the Jewish community, you should know and take pride in the fact that you are an important pillar in Israel's relations with the United States. Through your activities, involvement and caring, our relations are not only so deep and wide-ranging, but they are also so close and intimate.

As we approach 5765, I call upon you to make Israel education and Israel advocacy a central part of your personal and communal activities. I urge you to learn about Israel, to invest in Jewish education and to speak up for Israel. Perhaps more important than anything, come visit Israel in the coming year and see for yourself the miracle and reality that is Israel.
