Night to Honor Israel
November 23, 2003

Good evening and thank you Pastor Hagee for this kind introduction and invitation to be here tonight. It is really exhilarating, heart-warming and uplifting to see so many good people, faithful and god loving people, who come together to celebrate the bond between the United States and Israel. To celebrate, support and assistance for the State of Israel not only for its survival but also for it being a thriving nation to the glory of God.

When I come to the Church of Pastor Hagee I always better have something to quote from the bible. Let me start by quoting from psalms, "How good and pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity." And we are brothers and we are dwelling together in unity.

On behalf of my country, on behalf of the government and people of Israel, I am here to bring greetings to all of you and give thanks and gratitude for all that you are doing for the relationship between Israel and the United States, for strengthening Israel and also for the prayers in the name of God. This is so important in this day-in-age because it is a trying age for good and god-loving people. It is a trying age for those who believe in liberty and democracy. [Those] who want to cherish and pray for God without being killed in the streets of Jerusalem or New York or Washington or Bali or anywhere else in the world.

We have been tried before so many times. We have been attacked and expelled by Assyrians, Babylonians, the ancient Greeks, Rome and Ottoman Empire. Now if you look at all these great nations of the past, all that is left of them is just a dead letter, an inscription in history. But we are still here.

We are still here because this is God's will. We are going to still be here because of our bond with you, because of all of your prayers and support. This is so important because it gives us the courage, it gives us the strength and it gives us the inspiration to be who we are. To continue to fulfill God's prophesy. To continue to work on our shared and common destiny.

Before closing, let me quote from Amos 9.14-15, "I will bring back the captivity of my people Israel and I will plant them upon their land. And they shall no more be plucked up out of their land that I have given them, says the Lord." We are here tonight to celebrate the words of the Lord. And all we ask of you is to keep the faith and keep the prayer. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, the indivisible, eternal capitol- forever and ever.

I would like just to say God bless you all. God bless America. God bless Israel.
It is really thanks to Pastor Hagee that we are here. I would like to say how proud I am to share this platform with this great man of God. Whose brilliance, whose talent, and whose closeness to God inspires us all.

I am also happy to share this platform here with Consul General Yael Ravia-Zadok, who is Israel's consul to San Antonio, who is doing a great job representing Israel. And to be here with my good friend Mr. Malcolm Hoenlein, who is the Executive Director of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, who is tireless that the relationship between Israel and the United States is going in one direction, that is up. Thank you very much and enjoy the evening.
