Registration
A child born to an Israeli citizen
(including children born outside of Israel as first
generation out of Israel) is considered an Israeli citizen.
The child must be registered as a citizen, must possess an
Israeli passport when traveling to Israel, and must arrange
his/her army status once seventeen years old.
Requirements for Registration of an
Israeli citizen born in the US:
1. Complete
newborn
registration form
2. The
original
birth certificate with the complete
name of the new born, if the child was born in a state
different than Maryland, Virginia or DC the birth
certificate has have an authenticating Apostille
certificate attached, this certificate is issued by the
department of state authentication office. To contact the

3. Both parents' passports and a copy
of the passports (at least one of the parents has to present
an Israeli passport or ID).
4. At least one of the parents has to come to the embassy in
person.
Issuing a First National Passport for
Someone Born Outside of Israel :
Note: A Passport for a minor will be
issued for no longer than five years.
1.
Application for a passport / Travel Document.
2. 2 recent passport photographs,
showing a front view of the applicant's face, neatly
dressed, in color, and in a size of 2" by 2".
3. Issuing a passport / travel document for a minor (up to
the age of 18) requires a parent signature at the
consular section in the embassy, and a copy of both parents
passports. (If the parents are divorced, both parent
approval is required , or the legal guardian of the child
must show original and legal proof of custody).
4. Processing time for a new passport is approximately
two weeks.
5. Processing fees:
- $50 for a new National Passport for a citizen over
17 years old
- $17 for a new National Passport for a child under
17 years old
If you are interested in receiving your processed
new passport by mail, please include an additional
$11 for UPS Mail.
Please note that all fees must be paid in cash or with a
money order. (Please do not send cash by mail).
