Returning Residents

A returning citizen is an Israeli citizen who meets the following criteria:
. Is 17 years old or more
. Has resided abroad for over two years from the date he/she left Israel.
. Has visited Israel less than 120 days a year (consecutive or cumulative) for each year that he/she was outside of Israel
. Has not taken advantage of his/her rights as a returning resident in the past ( If you have used these rights before, but have spent 6 years or more in Israel after that, and are interested in returning to Israel, Click Here )

If you are eligible to be a "returning citizen", the embassy consular section will provide you with a letter that grant you a Discount on a one-way ticket to Israel with ELAL Airlines and permission to board with a third suitcase.

In order to receive this letter please make sure to have the following:

1. Valid Israeli and American passports for all family members. (If your passport is less than two years old, please bring your old passport as well).
2. ELAL reservation confirmation number.
3. Complete returning citizen application
4. A letter from the place of work, stating they do not pay for your tickets.
